It has definitely been over 6 months since I last posted. Doesn’t seem like it, though. 2014 was a year of extremes for me. Some amazing things happened and I achieved some major goals by the grace of God…on the other end, I broke a few of my “I never thought I’d ____” ideals and I gave up emotionally. In terms of hearing from God, it has never been drier…no doubt because of the deserted condition I’ve left my heart in a time or two. But amazingly, when His loving touch burst through the brick wall I had erected, His voice was never more clear. And it was everything. Still is. Arresting…consuming…overwhelming. Absolutely everything I’ve needed and more.
Last year, my only New Years’s resolution was to trust God more. In keeping with that, my primary ask of the Lord for 2015 and hereafter is that He help me to embrace and function more like the vessel that He created me to be (2 Timothy 2:20-21). The vessels I’m talking about only realize their full potential in the expert Hands of the Master. Lord, help me to always be cognizant that not only will I never be capable of filling myself sufficiently, but that I must always fully rely on You for fulfillment. Help me not to be selfish with what You place inside if me, but to understand that whenever I’m poured out, it’s for Your glory only. Finally, help me not to resist the breaking, but to trust that You are allowing it to happen FOR me and not just to me. When You are involved, it’s always all good. To 2015…may it be a year of diligently seeking my Master, grasping the nature of His Hands in which I dwell and finding sweet rest therein…
Amen!
Amen, sis. I hope with you and pray for you that that dryness will e replaced with everything you’ve asked for! God will draw near us if we draw near him (James 4:8). There is no way of dryness near living water! I love you. Off a fabulous 2015, Ash!
Yes! Thank you, sis…you know I’ll certainly be praying with and for you, too. Love you 🙂
Amen. The Father through His breaking is always to make anew. Remember you are in the Potter’s hand and He is making a new vessel for such a time as this. Dryness, isolation, pressure, heat (uncomfortableness), and PERCEIVED failures is a part of the process. To successfully impact those that are ahead in your life’s path will need this, must have , this new vessel.
Can’t believe I’m just seeing this. I’m encouraged by your words…VERY good stuff! I will remember :-).
