I came face to face with an interesting scenario today. I was conversing with a young lady who was expressing extreme frustration over the misfortunes in her life. She said that since God was allowing all of this to happen and didn’t appear to be doing anything about it, He must hate her. She concluded by saying that she was tired of standing and should just walk away.
To be honest, I felt her a little bit. But giving up on God is always a “losing” situation. Sometimes we get so pumped full of disappointment, that we think we’re getting back at or hurting God by walking away from Him. But while God loves us more than we’ll ever know, we’re not the ultimate prize…He is. Thankfully, He’ll never be the typical “one that got away.” He wants to be found, regardless of what chance we’re on. Not only does He anticipate our return…He relishes the thought. It won’t be hard to find Him, either. He’ll be the One at the end of the clear pathway with the open arms…
Lord, thank you for allowing us multiple chances and pulling out all the stops when we take them.
